On this Kilimanjaro 1 day trekking trip, we will start from the hotel or lodge and drive to Marangu gate, the Headquarters office, where you will register and then begin your hike from there. You will walk up to Mandara Hut for lunch. You will NOT reach the summit.
All short treks on Kilimanjaro are private, and you can start on any day of the year.
The short treks achieved for people who like to hike but reaching the summit is not a must-do allows one to experience the excitement of trekking on the highest peak on the African continent.
All trekking inside Tanzania National Park requires the service of a certified Kilimanjaro guide, and the Marangu route is the only route where short treks are allowed.
Kilimanjaro Tour Itinerary
The walk will go through the rainforest to the Mandara Huts, 2720m above sea level. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a better way to see the surroundings between Northern Tanzania and Kenya terrene. In the rainforest, look for towering trees, birdlife, and Colobus monkeys. After lunch, hike back to the park gate and drive back to Arusha for a hot shower, dinner, and overnight.
